BRAND GUIDELINES · v1.0 · APRIL 2026

The golden ratio
of island living.

This is the rulebook for Phi Aegina — the brand story, logo, palette, type, and everything in between. Made for partners who’ll be carrying the brand into the world on our behalf.

01Story & positioning

One letter. One island. One philosophy.

Partners who understand the brand make better decisions than partners who just follow rules. Begin here.

The name

Phi — the golden ratio of island living.

Phi is a 17-room boutique hotel in Agia Marina, Aegina. The name comes from Φ — the Greek letter behind the golden ratio, the mathematical principle behind why certain proportions feel inherently beautiful.

On Aegina, Φ is also the first letter of everything the island is known for, and of everything the hotel becomes when you arrive.

Pronunciation
Phi
/fee/ — rhymes with free.
Not “fye.” Not “pie.” In Greek, Φ is ɸi, but the English pronunciation is long-ee.
Aegina
/EH-gee-nah/ — Έγινα.
Stress on the first syllable. Not “ay-JEE-na.”
Positioning

Minimal design that frames the light. Spaces proportioned to feel effortlessly right. A 17-room hotel, 45 minutes from Athens, a lifetime from ordinary.

Manifesto

We don’t sell island life. We frame it. The light is what we have — and the light is different here. We keep the rooms quiet so the sea has somewhere to echo. We say less, so guests can say more. We measure everything against the proportions that have always felt right, long before anyone gave them a name.

Seventeen rooms. One island. A host, not a brand.

A letter, a ratio, a philosophy.

Never

Seven things Phi’s image library doesn’t hold.

Smiling couple, camera-aware

Phi never sells the experience through faces.

Aerial drone of hotel

Too brochure. Keep perspective human.

Cocktail splash, frozen

Motion tricks and strobes contradict the tone.

HDR blue-sky pool

Cold color cast; too saturated.

Plated food, overhead styled

Phi eats candid, not curated.

Filter-heavy sunset

Orange crush reads as stock.

Staff posing, arms crossed

No team-page conventions. Hospitality is in the room, not the portrait.

06Iconography & graphic elements

The Φ glyph is the icon system.

A small utility set covers functional UI. Nothing decorative. No bullets, no stars.

Φ
Φ — the graphic device

Logo. Bullet. Watermark. Key-art.

Φ functions as the whole visual vocabulary. At 1.5–3% opacity behind a hero, it’s the only pattern Phi uses. Embossed on a keycard in gold, it’s the whole brand. As a bullet between lines, it replaces every other ornament.
